Most disapointing: This kind of statistics (comparison of life expectancy, share of health expenditures in the GDP, out of pocket payments, morbidity etc.) were popular in public health sciences in the 90s. Nowadays quite more complex indicators are used in health policy to improve health care systems and consumers' satisfaction. The US has lost 15 years of further development. E.g. follow the "healtcare systems in transition" initiative of the WHO:
