So I work in HQ here in Kenilworth, NJ and thought you guys should know as I hate to see lives destroyed. By May 2008 there will be layoffs announced and it's not going to be pretty. Instead of 7-8 counterparts per territory we will do analyses and have 4-5 per territory depending on business needs. That means a 40-50% field force layoff.
If you think I am making this up then call me a liar and wait until May just don't come crying back to this board because I warned you. Same goes for us at HQ, we will get rid of 65% of trainers and 25% of operations personnel. Why am I warning you? Well, I used to work at another pharma company and hated being for 6 months without income. So take the next 3 months and please do yourself a favor and look for another job. IT"S EASIER TO GET A JOB WHEN EMPLOYED.
If you have had AE rating or better for last 2 reviews you are probably safe until December 2008. But if not then you might as well consider yourself laid off, displaced, etc.
Vytorin is our ONLY billion dollar drug and we share that with Merck. People at HQ are going crazy and are scared shitless. Take it from a middle manager at HQ who is in the thick of it. Run for a better oportunity! Good luck!!!
