Archbishop Francisco Chimoio, the head of the Catholic Church in Mozambique, claims condoms and some AIDS drugs are infected "in order to finish quickly the African people".
Approximately 16 percent of Mozambique's 19 million inhabitants are HIV positive.
The Catholic Church opposes any use of condoms, advising fidelity or abstinence. And now, some prominent members of the church also claim drugs and condoms are infected with HIV.
"Condoms are not sure because I know that there are two countries in Europe, they are making condoms with the virus on purpose," he alleged, refusing to name the countries.
