Now two doctors have developed a Sniff Magnitude Test, with the help of a $1.3 million grant from the NIH.
The patient takes a whiff of pleasant and unpleasant fragrances, and the machine measures how much the patient inhales. Bad smells result in a very small inhalation, simple as that.
