A number of media pundits have expressed interest in what will happen to BrandweekNRX with a former controversial VP of marketing writing this column.
Many said it would be "interesting" to follow; some predicted declining readership.
So, since this is a blog about healthcare marketing and communication, we've decided to communicate. After all, what we do is about performance. The same reality most of our readers are living with.
So we'll tell you exactly where we stand, the way you're used to see numbers and graphs when you review your own performance.
And to do that we'll display the statistics from Monday to Friday of last week. After all, that will avoid the temporary, short "uptick" one pundit predicted.
Last week we had an average of more than 7,000 page loads and more than 6,000 unique visitors each day. So 10% of readers clicked on links to other BrandweekNRX stores. We also had a record number of first time visitors, more than 6,000 each day.
In order to serve our readers we also like to determine which pages are really popular. After all, this is a blog for marketing professionals and we all want to know what products/stories are actually selling, or in our case, what our readers want to read.
Here's the result:
1. Red Cross sued over its - Red cross!
2. Declassified CIA documents reveal that drug companies gave the CIA drugs with bad side effects.
3. BrandweekNRX home page.
4. Secretary fired for blogging wins both lawsuit and book deal.
5. The New York Times follows BrandweekNRX's lead
6. BrandweekNRX home page.
7. My new book - KILLER DRUG - on Amazon's top 25 legal thrillers list!
8. Read tomorrow's news today. On BrandweekNRX.
9. Straight talk with a journalist who turned cutting-edge blogger.
It should be noted that any snapshot like this one overemphasizes recent articles, but may give an overall good indication of readers' interest, and if followed continuously, helps us develop exactly the kind of stories you want to read about.
