It's starting to look like open season on drug company marketing. "Lilly allegedly gave kickbacks to doctors and improperly
promoted the drug to nursing homes as a sedative, Montana
Attorney General Mike McGrath said in a complaint filed March 7
in state court in Helena," according to Bloomberg news. This drug just can't seem to stay out of controversy. Remember the NYT Alex-Berenson-is-"reprehensible"-episode?
Side note: Lilly's spokeswoman has the best name ever: Marni Lemons. Who better to make lemonade out of this mess? Could this be the same Marni Lemons who won a nomination in the 2005 Encore theater awards (that's Indianapolis's community theater version of the Tonys)? Yes it is! Lemons was honored in the best actress in a musical category for her role in "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas" with the Footlite Musicals. Here's a pic of her playing Rhetta in Pump Boys and Dinettes in 2001.
